Wisconsin Square Dance Event Pages Logo

This site is intended to serve the Wisconsin square dance community and visitors to this state. We are not a part of, nor are we aligned with the Square Dance Association of Wisconsin or any of the area organizations which are under the SDAW umbrella. This is an independent effort which relies on clubs, dancers, callers, cuers, and individuals to give us information on dances, events, lessons, and clubs in their areas.

Our listings are the result of the information which has been provided to us. If there is a club that you know has changed it's dance schedule, contact information, or lessons, please let us know so that we can update the listings.

Our listings are at no cost to clubs, callers, cuers, or organizations. The Wisconsin Square Dance Events pages is and has always been a non-commercial and non-profit effort.

We'd like to thank USDA, the Western Square Dance Page , and the Westport Squares for providing links from their pages. Also, check out Dosido.com, which is an online magazine, and Gerry and Chuck Hardy's pages .

Now, everybody...Square UP!

MANITOWOC COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Summer Barn Dance

Saturday, June 28th

Pinecrest Historical Village’s Nennig Dance Pavilion

5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Live music provided by The Redbirds with caller Tim Jenkins

Beer, soda, water and refreshments available

On Saturday, June 28th the Manitowoc County Historical Society will host a Traditional Barn Dance at Pinecrest Historical Village. The event will feature live music by The Redbirds and dance calling by Tim Jenkins. All dances will be taught, so no experience is necessary.

The dance will be held in the historic Nennig Dance Pavilion. The octagon shaped dance hall, once located in Cleveland, Wisconsin provides the perfect setting for the great fiddle and banjo music of The Redbirds. Featuring John Fabke and Paul Kienetz of the Nob Hill Boys Bluegrass Band, their music is tight, traditional and full of down home fun.

Visitors can take a break and enjoy cold beer, soda, water and refreshments in the Town Hall building adjacent to the dance pavilion.

According to MCHS director, Mike Maher: “Our barn dances are a unique experience. The old-time music and picturesque dance hall really take you back in time. The music begins and, before you know it, people of all ages and backgrounds are swinging each other around and everyone has a huge smile on their face. People always have a great time.”

The Summer Barn Dance will take place on Saturday, June 28th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The cost of the dance is $6 for adults. Children’s admission is $4. For more information contact MCHS at (920) 684 – 4445 or visit us on the web at mchistsoc.org.
